Message to the Argentinian President re the Falkland Islands

One is amused by the latest utterances from the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. She demands the return of the islands to Argentina even though the islands were discovered by the British sailor John Davis in 1592 and claimed by the British in the year 1764. It was only in 1829 that the Republic of Buenos Aires claimed the islands and attempted to occupy them. They were expelled by the United States Navy after seizing 3 American ships. The British resumed control and occupation in 1833 and have been in continious occupation until the Argentinian invasion of 1982. The islands were restored to British control after the horrendous Falklands War that followed. The Argentinian President demands that Britain hand over the islands to Argentina against the wishes of the people of the Falkland Islands who have voted in a referendum with 99.9% in favour of retaining their links with Britain. Another referendum will be held this year. Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner needs to look into her own countries past before screaming "colonial imperialism". Argentina invaded Patagonia in 1881 and slaughtered its native population in an even worse case on colonial imperialism. They have never been called to account for that atrocity which resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people just because Argentina wanted to steal their land. Cristina also forgets about her own nations Colonial past. I don't believe that she has any native indigenous ancestors in her genealogy and is therefore a produce of Colonial Imperialism herself. Spain invaded South America and what is now Argentina and simply murdered the local native indigenous peoples to claim all the wealth and riches for themselves. Millions of innocent natives were brutally murdered so that Spain could steal their gold, jewels and land for themselves. Maybe the Argentinian President should think about handing back Argentina to what is left of the indigenous native people who actually own, it before demanding that Britain hand control of the people of the Falkland Islands over to her murderous people. Lets not forget how many thousands were murdered in recent years by the brutal military regimes in Argentina and who have still never been found to this day. Whenever things look shakey for a President of Argentina, they start rattling the old "reclaim the Islas Malvinas" sabre. Last time this happened and they stupidly invaded the Falkland Islands, it cost thousands of soldiers and sailors lives on both sides. It seems as if Cristina's popularity may be on the waine again so she is rattling the old sabre again. Lets just hope she is not a big enough idiot to try use it. If the people living in the Falkland Island wish to become part of Argentina, they would be welcome to do that. However they show no inclination of wanting to change their British Citizenship for the dubious citizenship of Argentina, and lets face it, who would want to?

Israel enacts pay back time and spits the dummy.

It was disturbing to see the Israeli government spokesman on television spit the dummy and behave like a spoilt little child over the United Nations vote granting Observer Status to the Palestinians. He said it in a stupid tantrum, that the decision to build another 3,000 residencies in Palestinian Jerusalem and the West Bank was payback for the United Nations granting the observer status to Palestine. They will also withhold over a hundred million dollars in taxes that belong to the Palestinians. All because the United Nations agreed with the Palestinians on a vote and against Israel. At last the rest of the world is starting to stand up and be counted over the illegal actions of this rogue middle eastern state, Israel. Many European countries including the United Kingdom and Germany have expressed their displeasure and regret at the Israeli actions and have called those actions counterproductive in the search for a lasting peace in the middle east. They have hinted that further actions may be forthcoming if this Israeli action continues. It puts paid to the Israeli lie that it is seeking a peaceful solution to the Palestinian solution. Israel does not want peace and wants to annex all of the West Bank for itself. If it really wanted a lasting peace and a two state solution between Israel and Palestine, it would stop illegally stealing Palestinian land, murdering Palestinian citizens and withholding money payed by Palestinians as taxes to Israel. Once again, the Government of the State of Israel shows that they have no desire for a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian question. They have just announced that another 3,000 settlements will be built in East Jerusalem and the West Bank which the United Nations have designated as Palestinian territory. When will America and the west have the balls to stand up to Israel and support the United Nations in trying to establish peace and the two state solution. The Palestinian authority has said hundreds of times that it is ready to restart negotiations but requires Israel to stop building new settlements on Palestinian land. These settlements have been declared illegal many times by the United Nations, and therefore should be stopped as a pre condition for peace talks to be resumed. Its time that the United Nations gave Israel an ultimatum and a time limit for their abandonment or they should be expelled from the UN. Israel is obviously attempting to annex more and more of the Palestinian territory and has no wish or desire to see a State of Palestine created. The more territory they steal from Palestine, the more the Palestinians will be provoked into taking aggressive action against them. Any self respecting people would fight to defend their homes and territory just as the Palestinians are doing now. The world should be supporting Palestine in their just struggle for a homeland and not aiding and abetting the terrorist State of Israel. Mr Obama, enough is enough. You are backing the wrong side. Stand up to Israel before it is too late and another Middle East war breaks out. Readers of this blog please feel free to add your comments.

Congratulations Palestine and Shame on the United States and Israel.

Its great news that the United Nations has recognised observer status for the Palestinian delegation despite the objections of the United States, Israel and seven other nations around the world. I see that the American Ambassador to the UN thinks this is a step backwards and that it will hinder the peace process. Well Madam Ambassador, there is NO peace process. Would you negotiate with a person who entered your house in the dead of night, was stealing your possessions and killing your family? Of course not. there would be nothing to negotiate. Yet the American Government thinks that the Palestinians should sit down quietly and negotiate while Israel is actively stealing their land, killing their people and assassinating their leaders. Madam Ambassador, get it into your head, THERE IS NOTHING TO NEGOTIATE OVER. When the State of Israel removes all its citizens from Palestinian lands, removes the illegal blockade of Gaza and stops assassinating Palestinian citizens around the world, there might just be something to negotiate over, but until that happens, there is no point in negotiating. At least now the Palestinians can take legal action in the International Court of Justice against the State of Israel for the many illegal actions that have been committed against it over the past 60 years. The right to assassinate, yes or no?

An Israeli spokesman today insisted that Israel has the right to assassinate anyone around the world that it deems a threat to its security. If this is correct, it means that the Government in Gaza also has the right to assassinate anyone it deems as a threat to its security. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. Or is Isreal saying that it alone by some divine right, has the right to assassintae anyone it doesnt like, but no body else has that right? Wake up Israel, no country or organisation has the right to assassinate anyone that it doesnt agree with, just because they have a different opinion from Israel. Assassination is against Criminal and International Law, whether you are Israeli, Russian, Lebanese, American or from anywhere. Readers of this blog please feel free to add your comments.

Message for the Israeli Prime Minister on history, Gaza and Palestine.

I have just heard the Israeli Prime Minister say that Hamas is committing war crimes by firing rockets into civilian areas of Israel and by hiding their rockets behind civilians in Gaza and that they have a right to retaliate. Well Mr Prime Minister, Israel is also committing illegal and criminal acts against International Law by the following which allows the citizens of Gaza to retaliate, 1.instituting an illegal blockade of Gaza so as to starve its people of food and medical supplies, 2.bombing civilian targets in Gaza, 3.using cluster bombs against civilian targets, 4.boarding international shipping in International Waters and assassinating people on board these international vessels, 5.sending terrorists into foreign countries to assassinate foreign citizens, 6.forging foreign passports to be used by Israeli terrorists, 7.sending terrorists to assassinate scientists in foreign countries, 8.invading foreign lands and annexing those lands, 9.expelling citizens in annexed lands from their lands, 10.building settlements on those annexed lands for your own citizens, Mr Prime Minister, when the State of Israel recognises that the people of Palestine and Gaza have a right under International Law and the United Nations to their own country, then maybe Israel might also be able to live in peace. But while you deny the rights of people to live in peace in their own country, you also must expect those same people to fight you to achieve their freedom. It was Israel that first started terrorism to force the British out of Palestine who were the legal governing power under the United Nations, so don't start now saying that the Palestinians cannot use those same tactics you taught them to fight for their own freedom.
